Alex Nuyda

Alex Nuyda is an undergraduate student at Rice University, majoring in Sociology with a focus on Science and Technology Studies. A proud transfer to the university from The Honors College at Lone Star College-University Park, Alex has completed and nationally presented independent interdisciplinary research assessing the polarizing discourse surrounding genetic engineering technologies. She is galvanized by a profound love for scholarship, academia, and interdisciplinary connections, and seeks to build upon her previous research through an honor’s thesis with the sociology department at Rice. Later, she intends to pursue a Ph.D. with aspirations to bridge gaps in accessibility to science education and improve science communications and development transparency.
