Faith During and After Harvey: What Religious Communities Did and Could Still Do

Faith During and After Harvey

On September 6, 2017, the Religion and Public Life Program (RPLP) at Rice University hosted a public conversation in response to Hurricane Harvey that just days before had left the city in crisis. "Faith During and After Harvey: What Religious Communities Did and Could Still Do" featured three panelists: Dr. Elaine Howard Ecklund, professor of sociology at Rice University, Rev. Greg Han, director of interfaith relations at Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston, and Rev. Matt Russell, senior associate pastor at St. Paul's United Methodist Church Houston. The panelists discussed recent research on disaster relief as well as shared what their respective organizations were doing to assist others in the wake of Harvey.
